Assumes responsibility and accountability for the success of integrated Hospital Laboratory operations as well as shared functions including pathology, transfusion medicine, point of care testing, regulatory compliance, quality and safety across specified geographic regions in Sentara HealthCare. Contributes to the success of hospitals by integrating performance improvement initiatives together with regulatory requirements, while supporting goals and objectives for facilities spanning multiple divisions.

Bachelors Degree (Required)

MHA or MBA in Healthcare (Preferred)
Experience

Minimum 5 years Laboratory Leadership experience within an Integrated Delivery System required

Strong managerial experience required

Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with peers and leadership

Proven ability to bring excellent business acumen and resourcefulness to the management of the lab.

Demonstrated ability to recruit, grow, and lead a high performing team. Build and sustain a positive and energetic culture within an organization.

Effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills.

Be comfortable and flexible with common change. Ability to drive change, standardize, and integrate across the 19 laboratories throughout the 12 hospital system.

Verified ability to function as a strong member of a very motivated and integrated leadership and operations team.

Preferred experience with EPIC Beaker or other significant LIS (Laboratory Information System) development and functionality.

Knowledge of quality assurance procedures and practices.
