Sentara Heart Hospital located on the campus of Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU)

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is one of just five Level 1 trauma centers in Virginia, home to the Nightingale Regional Air Ambulance and the region’s first Magnet® hospital and nationally ranked heart program at the Sentara Heart Hospital. The hospital sits on the Eastern Virginia Medical Campus which serves as the primary teaching institution. Sentara Norfolk General and the Heart Hospital offers Transplant Services: Heart, Kidney and Pancreas. We are a Certified Stroke Center and the only Level 3 Epilepsy Center in the area.
The Sentara Heart Hospital a 112-bed care facility is #2 for Cardiology services and Heart Surgery in the State of Virginia and ranks #24 in the nation for best heart programs.
Department Overview:
10 Bed Unit on the 2nd floor of Sentara Heart Hospital
Patient population includes Cardiac patients (not surgical), pulmonary hypertension, heart attack, heart failure, sepsis, and this unit is the MRT for the Heart Hospital.
RN Experience:
1 year of IMCU or Stepdown, PCU, OR 2 years of Medical/Surgical

This position's primary duties include assessing/admitting patients, rounding checks, giving medications, talking with family members, and being responsible for the overall care of your patients. Education: Diploma RN, associate degree RN, bachelor’s degree RN, or master’s degree RN. All new RNs who do not have their BSN will be required to sign a BSN Agreement committing to enrollment in an accredited RN to BSN program within 24 months of hire and successfully obtaining their BSN within 5 years of hire.
BLS required within 90 days of hire date, and ACLS required within 1 year of hire date.
