Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Cardiac Cath Lab. This is a Full-time day shift position in Charlottesville, VA with required call.
Hours: 4 nine-hour shifts, 7am-430PM with required call.
Call requirements: 1 to 2 shifts per week and 1 weekend per month. 30 Minute response time required.
Sign on bonus up to $15,000 available for qualified candidates.
About the department: The Cardiac Cath Lab team at SMJH is a dedicated group of 20 professionals, including RNs, cardiac invasive technologists, RCIS, and EP specialists, who manage both inpatient and outpatient cases with an average of 10 procedures daily, focusing on complex interventions within their award-winning STEMI program. The department offers a comprehensive 6-month orientation (3 months Cath, 3 months EP), emphasizing procedural training and teamwork. Led by a longstanding leadership team, this unit is known for its high retention rate and supportive environment. Ideal candidates will have experience in Cardiac Cath, ICU, CCU, or cardiac step-down units and thrive in a collaborative, patient-centered setting.

The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
