Sentara Obici Hospital, located in Suffolk, Virginia, is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Family Maternity Center Team.
The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.

The Family Maternity Center is located away from the everyday flow to provide a peaceful, comforting environment for our moms and babies.
- We have 24-hour coverage by board-certified pediatricians and anesthesiologists.
- Lactation Specialists are available six days a week.
- Infant security system to ensure safety for all our newborns.
- Ample space for dad, family member, or support person to spend the night.
- Special affiliation with Children's Hospital for the King's Daughter (CHKD) if specialized care is required.

Education
- RN-Associate’s Degree
- RN-Bachelor’s Degree
- RN-Diploma
- RN-Master’s Degree
Certification/Licensure
- Virginia or Compact Multi-state RN (Registered Nurse) license in good standing.
- BLS within 90 days of hire
Experience
- Experienced RN. Experience in areas outside of women’s health may be considered.
