Sentara Health is seeking to hire a qualified individual to join our team as an Supervisor, Patient Care Services – Licensed.
Position Status: Full-time, Day Shift
Position Location: 2 days on-site at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital, 3 days a week remote.
Standard Working Hours: 7:00AM to 3:30PM
Overview
Provides education, training and research, and clinical support services for clinical or business team members and other department personnel. Performs essential activities to achieve quality standards and as required by safety protocols or accreditation standards. Assumes a leadership role in staff development and serves as subject matter expert in areas of expertise linking staff training, education and development to strategic imperatives. Demonstrates clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards and to coach or teach others specific to the designated specialty. Works collaboratively as a team leader with facility/division leaders, physicians, other department personnel and community healthcare providers to achieve high quality and high satisfaction healthcare outcomes for patients. Licensed professionals are required to keep their license current in the state of practice.
Will provide comprehensive supervision for the Psychiatric Emergency Response (PERS) team, including oversight of scheduling, API approvals, and daily team operations. Responsibilities include managing complex patient cases, addressing employee concerns, overseeing credentialing processes, and supporting onboarding and training for new hires. Additional duties include approving PTO requests, participating in annual evaluations, coordinating with answering services, and ensuring smooth day-to-day functioning of the team.
