Sentara Heart Hospital- hiring a Full time Scheduler
Duties:
Appointment Coordination: Schedule patient appointments for cardiac evaluations, procedures, and follow-ups, ensuring optimal use of medical staff and resources.
Patient Interaction: Communicate with patients to confirm appointment details, provide pre-procedure instructions, and address any scheduling conflicts or concerns.
Data Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including appointment history, medical information, and referral documentation.
Coordination with Medical Staff: Collaborate with cardiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure timely scheduling of necessary tests and treatments.
Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance information and obtain necessary authorizations for procedures and diagnostic tests.
System Management: Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems and scheduling software to manage appointments, track patient information, and generate reports.
Follow-Up: Ensure timely follow-up with patients regarding upcoming appointments and rescheduling as needed to accommodate changes in patient or provider availability.
Problem Resolution: Address and resolve scheduling conflicts, appointment errors, and patient issues with professionalism and efficiency.
Documentation: Prepare and process all necessary documentation for cardiac procedures, including consent forms and pre-operative instructions.
Compliance: Ensure adherence to healthcare regulations, patient confidentiality, and organizational policies and procedures
Minimum 1 year of experience in a related area such as a customer service environment, in a medical office, or in a healthcare environment.
