Sentara Rockingham Memorial Hospital located in Harrisonburg; Virginia is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Cardiac Operating Room (OR) Team. Full Time, Day shift with required call.
$15,000 sign on bonus available for qualified candidates.
Hours and call: Monday through Friday 6AM to 2:30PM and required call. Candidate must live within 30 minutes of the hospital for call purposes. Weekday call is 1430-0600 the following morning (2-3 per week)- Weekend call is 24 hours Saturday and Sunday twice a month.
Department Overview:
We are made up of two operating rooms and one hybrid OR. You will work with a multi-disciplinary team of Cardio-thoracic Surgeons, Anesthesiologists, Cardiovascular Technologists, and Physician Assistants. The CTOR surgical team is close knit and work with our Beacon award winning CCU staff for post-operative care. Training and precepting for those new to the Cardiac Operating Room is one on one with our well-trained staff offering best in class education. We want you see our CTOR team succeed!

The cardiothoracic operating room nurse works as part of the surgical services and operating room teams that treat open-heart (cardiovascular) patients. Prepares OR Room, ensures equipment and medications are available for the operating room team. Reviews patient’s chart. Assesses patient upon admission and through procedure Prep and positions patient in OR Administers medication, monitor vital signs during procedure. Document’s information. Provides a call report to the ICU floor nurse after the surgical procedure. Prepares OR for the next case.
