We are seeking a dynamic and visionary leader to oversee high-performing teams and drive excellence, quality outcomes, and exceptional customer service across nursing at Sentara RMH. This director-level role is responsible for the strategic and financial success of assigned departments and will align nursing initiatives to meet division and system goals.
More specifically, this position will:

Oversee all nursing professional development programs, including onboarding, transition to practice programs, and continuing education.

Cultivate mentorship for nurses at all levels.

Support academic partnerships and manage clinical placement, internships, and preceptorship programs.

Promote and integrate evidence-based practices into nursing care to improve patient outcomes.

Lead and support nursing research initiatives and innovation in clinical practice.

Serve as liaison to the Institutional Review Board (IRB) for nursing-led research projects and advanced degree mentorship.

Champion quality improvement initiatives in collaboration with nursing and clinical leaders.

Monitor and analyze nursing quality indicators to inform practice improvement.

Work collaboratively with the Magnet Program Director to advance the culture of nursing excellence.

Serve as a collaborative partner across departments to promote shared governance and a culture of excellence.

Engage with external nursing organizations, academic institutions, and community partners to support excellence in nursing.
