Sentara Health is currently seeking a full-time Internal Corporate Communications Advisor.
Position Status: Full-time, Day Shift
Location: Hybrid in Virginia Beach, VA. 1 day a week in office.
Standard Working Hours: 8:00AM to 5:00PM (EST).
Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Internal Corporate Communications Advisor to support enterprise-level communications with a focus on change management, digital tools, and executive-level engagement. This position will serve as a strategic backfill for a key communications partner and work closely with senior leadership, including leaders for clinical audiences, divisions, and programs.
The Communications Advisor is responsible for supporting the design and implementation of strategies, tactics and content to support high-level system wide communication initiatives across a variety of platforms. Duties include writing, editing, and curating content on different platforms; supporting the production of videos and other digital assets; and ensuring all materials align with organizational strategic business goals. The position works closely with the other departments to coordinate communications and engagement strategies that enhance the organization's reputation at national and regional levels. Additional responsibilities include audience segmentation, ensuring seamless integration of communication tactics across channels, and measurement and performance analysis. The position also involves handling complex project management tasks to ensure timely and effective delivery of communication initiatives.
Responsibilities:

Develop and execute internal communication strategies and change management plans

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including email marketing, design, and IT to deliver timely and effective messaging

Write and edit articles, internal announcements, and intranet content following AP style

Manage communications through SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 platforms

Support project communications using project intake tools and platforms such as Asana (or similar project management tools)

Drive strategic messaging around organizational change — including who is impacted, timing, confidentiality, and readiness

Partner closely with senior leaders and executives to deliver impactful communication plans

Think strategically while managing tactical communications in a fast-paced environment

Lead or support virtual town halls and on-site team events

Contribute to staff meeting communications and engagement strategies on in-office days
Key Skills:
