Part-Time Endoscopy Registered Nurse (Pre-Op, Procedure, Recovery)
Location: Sentara Norfolk General Hospital – Endoscopy Unit
Department: Endoscopy Services
Schedule: Part-Time, Days (Monday–Friday, 0630–1700)
Call Requirements: 3–4 call shifts/month (1700–0700 weekdays; 24-hour call on weekends; at least one weekend call shift every month)

Job Description:
Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is seeking a dedicated and skilled Part-Time Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Endoscopy Unit. This position includes responsibility for providing comprehensive care across the full procedural spectrum—pre-operative assessment, intra-procedure support, and post-procedure recovery—for a variety of outpatient and inpatient procedures in pulmonary, gastroenterology, and ENT specialties.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform patient assessments and preparations for scheduled endoscopic procedures
Assist during procedures, ensuring patient safety and monitoring sedation
Manage post-procedure recovery and patient readiness for discharge or further care
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams for effective case management
Participate in a part-time call rotation (3–4 shifts/month), including one weekend every 2 months
Qualifications:
Current RN license in the Commonwealth of Virginia (or compact license)
Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience; procedural or critical care preferred
BLS and ACLS certification required
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and critical thinking skills
Ability to function well in a dynamic, team-based environment
